GulfCap Real Estate launches housing project in Nairobi’s Ziwani estate
The project will be built in stages, with the first phase expected to take two years to complete.
GulfCap Real Estate has launched a housing project in Nairobi’s Ziwani estate, Starehe Sub-County.
The project, announced on Wednesday, is expected to change the landscape of the area by offering modern housing solutions to the residents of Nairobi.

Speaking to The Eastleigh Voice at the launch GulfCap chairman Suleiman Shahbal said the project aims to create not just apartments but a comprehensive, modern estate with all the necessary facilities for a comfortable lifestyle.
Shahbal outlined plans for a development that includes a swimming pool, basketball courts, playgrounds for children, and social amenities such as learning institutions. The estate will be a gated community with enhanced security.
"We are not just building apartments; we want to change the face of Starehe. The entire area will transform into a modern, green, and safe environment for the residents," said Shahbal.
The ambitious project will consist of 20 blocks with more than 3,400 apartments.
The project will be built in stages, with the first phase expected to take two years to complete. Each block will have shops, creating a self-sufficient community for the residents.
The apartments will range in price from Sh2.5 million to Sh8 million, depending on size and design. The housing units will include one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments.
Shahbal assured the public that the development would offer high-quality housing solutions that would stand out in Nairobi's real estate market.
"We are building a high-quality product that has not been seen before in Nairobi," he stated.
The launch event was attended by several dignitaries, including Kamukunji Member of Parliament Yusuf Hassan, who was the chief guest.
Although Ziwani is outside his constituency, the MP praised the project as the largest housing development ever undertaken in the area. He said the benefits of the project would extend beyond Ziwani and positively impact neighbouring constituencies including Kamukunji.
"This development will not only benefit Ziwani in Starehe but will also have a significant impact on the surrounding areas," the MP noted.
He emphasised the importance of such projects, noting that access to decent and affordable housing is a fundamental human right.
Other notable attendees at the event, held at Business Bay Square (BBS) Mall, included Somalia's ambassador to Kenya Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, the Chief Executive Officer of the Eastleigh Business District Association Mohamed Adan, and several other leaders and business figures.
The project seeks to complement the government's broader affordable housing initiative, which seeks to address the growing housing deficit in Nairobi and across the country.
