Darajani Gogo registers crucial away win as Fortune Sacco loses ground

Darajani Gogo leapfrogged Fortune Sacco into fourth place after winning 1-0 away to MCF in a 2024-25 FKF NSL Round 20 match that was played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday.
Darajani Gogo, who were looking for their first league win in five matches, got their winning goal at the stroke of halftime through Veron Ombima.
The win increases their points tally to 33, putting them three points behind Kibera Black Stars, who in third place with 36 points, occupy the promotion play-off spot.
The result condemned MCF to their third loss in league four matches, a period during which they have managed to collect only one point. MCF now lie 16th with 21 points.
At the Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) Grounds in Ngong, Fortune Sacco lost ground in their quest for promotion after drawing 0-0 away to SamWest Blackboots. The result saw them drop to 5th with 32 points as their winless streak stretched to three matches. On their part, SamWest remain 15th with 22 points.
In Homa Bay, MOFA were left to a late equaliser by Nzoia Sugar as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Bungoma-based side at the Raila Odinga Stadium. MOFA had taken the lead in the 30th minute through Lawrence Ouma but had their advantage erased in the 78th minute when Ian Simiyu equalised for the away team. The result leaves MOFA 6th with 31 points while Nzoia Sugar rose to 8th with 29 points.
There seems to be no end in sight for Muhoroni Youth's woes as the Kisumu-based lost 2-0 at home to Luanda Villa in a match that was played at Muhoroni Stadium. The result leaves Muhoroni Youth with only one win in their last 15 matches as they continue to lie 18th in the relegation zone with 16 points. On their part, Luanda Villa rose to 10th with 26 points.
In the day's other match, Vihiga United won 2-1 at home to 3K FC in a match that was played at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu. The result saw Vihiga United rise to 12th place with 25 points as 3K remain 9th with 26 points.
Action in the NSL is expected to continue tomorrow as third-placed Kibera Black Stars travel to Ukunda to play SS Assad who lie at the bottom of the 20-team league.
