20 candidates to be interviewed for political parties registrar roles

The first interview will begin at 8:30 am with Ali Abdullah Surrar from Mandera, while the final session of the day will feature Florence Tabu Birya from Kilifi at 2:30 pm
The Public Service Commission (PSC) has published the names of 20 candidates shortlisted for interviews for the positions of Registrar and Assistant Registrar of Political Parties, with the exercise scheduled for Monday, August 11, 2025, at its headquarters on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi.
The list includes 10 individuals shortlisted for the position of Registrar of Political Parties. The first interview will begin at 8:30 am with Ali Abdullah Surrar from Mandera, while the final session of the day will feature Florence Tabu Birya from Kilifi at 2:30 pm

Among those competing for the role is Geoffrey Obonyo from Kisii, shortlisted under the Persons With Disabilities category.
Others include Sophia Kaindi Sitati Mudhungi from Nyeri, Mercy Kalondu Wambua from Machakos, and Manna W. E. Rodgers from Bungoma.
Another 10 candidates have been selected for the Assistant Registrar of Political Parties position. Their interviews will also take place on the same day.
Seth Odhiambo Onyango from Migori is the first to appear before the panel at 8:30 am., with Gilbert William Opanga from Vihiga closing the day at 2:30 pm.
The lineup features a diverse group of applicants, including Simon Owawa Nyamolo from Homa Bay, representing the Persons With Disabilities category, and Josephine Kirion Ergaoe from Isiolo.
The Commission has directed all candidates to report at least 20 minutes before their scheduled time.
They must carry original national identification, academic and professional certificates, testimonials, and valid clearance letters from the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
Applicants with qualifications from foreign institutions are required to provide official recognition letters from the Commission for University Education.
In addition, the PSC has opened a public window for anyone with credible information regarding any of the shortlisted individuals.
Such information must be submitted by Friday, August 8, 2025, through email or in person at the Commission's Nairobi offices.
This process is being conducted in line with Sections 33, 34, and 34A of the Political Parties Act, Cap 7D, which governs the appointments.
