Eight of those who opted to do their weddings outside Mandera Town were assisted in delivering their belongings to their respective houses.
The office of the Kadhi in the county also offered to give the newlyweds their certificate of marriage.

A committee was formed that had helped in setting the rules which included the groom, who should be a responsible person, independently identifying his potential wife.
The committee was also required to do a background check of the man aimed at looking at how responsible and committed the man is to a family.
“Someone who wants to benefit should be a person ready for marriage. Someone who is unable to support himself should not be one who is looking for a second wife,” MP Hussein said.

The MP catered for the wedding costs while the committee catered for the furnishing of the newlyweds' houses, the nikah ceremony, as well as events taking place including taking the bride to her house.
