High cost of living remains leading concern for Kenyans – Infotrak survey

Insecurity, crime, and extra-judicial killings were mentioned by fewer respondents, but remain significant challenges in the country.

High cost of living remains the leading concern for Kenyans, with 40 per cent calling on the government to address it. Unemployment follows at 36 per cent, while 31 per cent cited access to quality and affordable education as their top priority.

Issues surrounding the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF/SHA) also featured prominently, with 27 per cent of respondents flagging them as a major concern.

Corruption was highlighted by 25 per cent, over-taxation by 20 per cent, and poor transport and road infrastructure by 15 per cent.

Meanwhile, 13 per cent pointed to the need for affordable healthcare.
