FIFA World Cup 2026 Group A and B standings

Czechia and South Africa are yet to open their accounts, sitting third and fourth in the group respectively.

Mexico made a strong start to their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign, going top of Group A with 3 points after their opening match. They lead the standings on a +2 goal difference, while South Korea sit second on 3 points with a +1 goal difference after also winning their first fixture.

Czechia and South Africa are yet to open their accounts, sitting third and fourth in the group respectively. Czechia have a goal difference of -1, while South Africa are bottom with -2 following their opening-round defeats.

In Group B, the competition remains wide open after the first round of matches at the FIFA World Cup 2026. Switzerland, Canada, Qatar, and Bosnia and Herzegovina all played out draws, leaving each team on one point with identical goal differences of 0, setting up a tightly balanced race for the knockout stage.
