Governor Kang’ata calls for investment shift to jobs, education and health

Kang’ata calls for shift in funding priorities, urging investment in manufacturing, education and healthcare while criticising the Housing Levy and demanding SHA refunds to counties.

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata has urged increased investment in manufacturing, education and healthcare, saying the three sectors should be prioritised to create jobs and improve livelihoods.
Speaking during the Linda Mwananchi tour in Thika, Kang’ata criticised the Housing Levy, arguing that the funds would be better directed towards supporting free day secondary education.
He also called on the national government to refund counties' money owed under the SHA programme, saying the funds would help strengthen healthcare services at the county level.
