The accusations against the two stem from their tenure at KBC, where, on diverse dates spanning from January 1, 2022, to March 1, 2023, they, along with unidentified accomplices, allegedly committed fraudulent acts.
Two Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) employees found themselves in legal turmoil as they were arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on charges related to corruption.
The duo appeared before the Mombasa Law Court to face allegations of stealing, by a person employed in a public office, a violation under Section 280 of the penal code.

The accusations against them stem from their tenure at KBC, where, on diverse dates spanning from January 1, 2022, to March 1, 2023, they, along with unidentified accomplices, allegedly committed fraudulent acts.
Specifically, they are accused of misappropriating funds amounting to Sh 7,103,000 from the revenue funds of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation.
The charges indicate that the two acting in their capacity as signatories of the KBC Imprest account held at Kenya Commercial Bank Kilindini Branch, unlawfully diverted substantial sums of money for personal gain.
“On diverse dates between January 1, 2022 and March 1 2023 being employed at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) jointly with others not before court, by being signatories of KBC Imprest an account held at Kenya Commercial Bank Kilindini Branch stole Ksh 7, 103,000/= revenue funds for Kenya Broadcasting Corporation,” read the charge sheet.
