KUCCPS reopens portal for KMTC September 2025 intake

Students have until August 28, 2025, to apply via the KUCCPS student portal and secure a spot in their preferred courses.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened applications for the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) September 2025 intake, offering students another chance to join diploma and certificate programmes in health sciences.

Students have until August 28, 2025, to apply via the KUCCPS student portal and secure a spot in their preferred courses.

KUCCPS urged prospective applicants not to miss the opportunity, highlighting that the reopening was prompted by high demand for KMTC programmes.

“Don’t miss out! Apply now to secure your chance for the September 2025 intake,” the placement service said in a notice on Monday.

The reopened intake covers a wide range of diploma and certificate programmes in health sciences and related fields, including nutrition and dietetics, health records and information technology, occupational therapy, orthopaedic technology, physiotherapy, medical engineering, medical social work, public health, community health assistance, medical emergency technician, and health insurance management.

Students can pursue either diploma or certificate-level qualifications, depending on their career goals and eligibility.

KUCCPS emphasised that all applications must be submitted through the official student portal at students.kuccps.net and encouraged students to complete their applications promptly to avoid missing the deadline.

To apply, students must first access the KUCCPS student portal at students.kuccps.net, log in using their KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year, and Password—either their Birth Certificate Number or KCPE Index Number.

Once logged in, applicants can view available KMTC programmes and their minimum entry requirements under the “KMTC Programmes” tab. Students may only apply for courses where they meet these requirements.

After reviewing the courses, applicants must note the Programme Codes for their preferred options. They then start the application by clicking the “KMTC Application” tab and selecting “Apply Now,” entering the Programme Codes in order of preference from most to least desired.

Once the system fetches the programme details, applicants can submit their choices and proceed to pay the application fee of Sh1,500, following the portal’s payment instructions.

The update comes a week after KUCCPS announced a reduction of the application fee for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) placements in the September 2025 intake, lowering it from Sh1,500 to Sh500 in a bid to boost access and encourage more students to enrol.
