After an extraordinary streak of 19 games without a loss this season, Gor Mahia's seemingly invincible run came to an abrupt halt, as they succumbed 3-1 to Kenya Police FC in a fiercely contested FKF Premier League match played at the Kenya Police Sacco Stadium in South C, Nairobi on Saturday afternoon.
Much anticipation preceded the match, with discussions revolving around the unprecedented decision by the law enforcers to raise ticket prices to as high as Ksh 3,000, a move never before seen in Kenyan league football. Despite the hefty charges, the turnout at the stadium can be deemed respectable.

Gor Mahia took an early lead courtesy of in-form Austin Odhiambo's fifth-minute strike, following a seamless connection with Shariff Musa's assist. However, as the game progressed, Police significantly upped their game in the second half. A minute before the hour mark, winger Kenneth Muguna leveled the score, and the tide turned completely when former Gor striker Tito Okello secured a brace, ultimately clinching victory for Police, with his second goal coming in stoppage time.
