Kenyans flocked to Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi for the 61st Jamhuri Day celebrations. By 6 am, members of the public had already begun arriving at the venue.
President William Ruto will preside over the event, where three visiting heads of state are expected. The ceremony commemorates Kenya's transition to a republic 61 years ago, following independence in 1963.
