Residents and traders in Kwale County are finally seeing relief with the long-awaited facelift of the Lunga Lunga Market-Lunga Lunga Secondary School road. The impassable condition of the road had become a major source of frustration, impacting businesses, school commutes, and overall quality of life in the community.

"This revitalized road is a game-changer," said resident Ishamel Sumba. "It won't just improve accessibility, but also uplift the economic and social fabric of Lunga Lunga." He, along with many others, endured the challenges of navigating the dilapidated road, especially during the rainy season.

Motorcycle rider Sumbwa echoed these sentiments, expressing concerns about student safety and hoping for reduced transportation costs with the improved road. Traders like Mishi Ali and Juma Hassan highlighted the difficulties transporting goods, facing damage and incurring losses due to the poor road conditions. They anticipate quicker deliveries, better product preservation, and ultimately, higher profits with the facelift.

"Unreliable transportation affects the freshness of our produce," said trader Fatma Said. "A better road could mean quicker and more reliable deliveries, benefiting both us and our customers." These diverse voices paint a picture of a community yearning for positive change, and the Sh18 million project promises just that.

Governor Achani launched the construction at Lunga Lunga Market, emphasizing her administration's commitment to improving infrastructure and transportation networks. "Lunga Lunga is now a municipality, and we're heavily investing to uplift the living standards of residents," she declared.

Lunga Lunga MP Mangale Chiphoromodo commended the Governor's initiative, acknowledging the positive impact on the entire county. With the construction underway and a four-month completion timeline, the community eagerly awaits the transformation of the road into a durable, cabro-paved masterpiece. This project signifies more than just improved infrastructure; it represents a renewed hope for economic growth, better livelihoods, and a brighter future for Lunga Lunga.
