New Kenyan envoy Mohammed Ramadhan presents credentials to Saudi's Foreign ministry

Undersecretary for Protocol Affairs Abdulmajeed Al-Smari played host to the occasion, formally accepting the credentials of the new Kenyan Ambassador to the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia formally accepted diplomatic credentials on Wednesday for Mohammed Ramadhan Ruwange, the newly appointed envoy to the Gulf nation.

Undersecretary for Protocol Affairs Abdulmajeed Al-Smari played host to the occasion, formally accepting the credentials of the new Kenyan Ambassador to the Kingdom in a significant official diplomatic exchange tradition in Riyadh.

The Kenya Embassy in the capital of the oil-rich country, also warmly welcomed Mohammed who officially commenced his diplomatic role.

Emphasising the Kingdom's support, Mohammed expressed a commitment to expedite negotiations and finalise the proposed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between Kenya and Saudi Arabia.

These MOUs cover various sectors, including shipping, maritime education and training, and mutual recognition of Qualifications.

Highlighting investment opportunities, Saudi Arabia is encouraged to explore sectors such as agriculture, tourism, real estate and construction, energy, manufacturing, finance as well as ICT in Kenya.

In his diplomatic role, the new envoy will articulate Kenya’s foreign policy, working to advance national interests through engagements at both bilateral and multilateral levels.

His responsibilities include the facilitation of negotiations and the strengthening of ties between Kenya and Saudi Arabia.

Mohammed takes on the crucial role following the end of the tenure of Ambassador Peter Nicholas Rateng Oginga Ogego, who served as Kenya’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
