No region will be left behind, Kindiki promises on nationwide development projects

He dismissed claims that his meetings were politically motivated, stressing that such platforms should be used for the advancement of development and not political campaigning.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans that the government is committed to ensuring equitable development across the country, with a clear focus on including every region in key national projects.

"We are carrying the entire country along. We want to ensure that no part of the country is left behind. Leadership is not about favouring one group over another; it's about including everyone," Kindiki said on Friday.

The Deputy President's comments came as part of his push for inclusivity in the implementation of national development projects.

He stressed that the government's agenda prioritises not just economic growth, but also community engagement.

According to Kindiki, public participation is crucial to the success of any development initiative.

"It's important to meet and have a dialogue with the people. This meeting is focused entirely on discussing development priorities and how to move the county forward. I will be meeting similar delegations from all counties to have these discussions," Kindiki noted, reinforcing his commitment to engage directly with citizens nationwide.

While addressing concerns about the pace and focus of government projects, the Deputy President called for a collective effort from citizens, urging them to actively participate in identifying their county's development needs.

Active role

He stressed that progress will be faster if residents take an active role in monitoring the execution of key projects.

"This meeting is about delivering real results and ensuring development reaches every corner of the country. We need to address issues related to coffee, tea, Muguka, roads, electricity, as well as youth and women empowerment," Kindiki said.

Referring to his mandate from President William Ruto, Kindiki reassured the Embu residents that his focus remains on delivering tangible results and that he will remain accountable for the work done under his watch.

"When we go back to the people, I will be accountable for every day I spend in this office. Improving the lives of the people is what keeps me awake, and I have no time for anything else," he said.

The DP also clarified that the focus of his engagements with the public is not political.

He dismissed claims that his meetings were politically motivated, stressing that such platforms should be used for the advancement of development and not political campaigning.

"It would be irresponsible to use this platform for politics when there are so many other important matters at hand," Kindiki said.

"We will not allow ourselves to be dragged into early political campaigns by those eager to politicize everything. When the time for campaigning comes, we will do so with the appropriate seriousness," he added.

The Deputy President further urged the Embu residents to hold him accountable, encouraging them to ask questions about his progress in addressing their concerns.
