Kalonzo says he is collecting evidence to take Ruto to ICC over crimes against humanity

Wiper party leader and Senior Counsel Kalonzo Musyoka has announced he is currently leading the process of collecting key evidence that will enable him to present a case against the Government of President William Ruto at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged crimes against humanity.

Musyoka accused Ruto's administration of sanctioning state-sponsored killings and abductions of young Kenyans who were exercising their constitutional rights.

Speaking in Kimana on Sunday and in a bold statement on X on February 2, 2025, Musyoka criticised Ruto's leadership, calling it disastrous for the people of Kenya.

Musyoka, condemning what he described as "Zakayo's anti-people policies," asserted that Ruto's regime has enabled severe human rights violations, particularly against young people.

"We will take him to The Hague/ICC to answer for his crimes against humanity," Musyoka said.

In 2016, the ICC dismissed the case against Ruto after he was implicated in the 2007-2008 post-election violence.

Musyoka is now urging for renewed international scrutiny of the current regime's actions.

Musyoka also pointed to pressing national issues, including taxation, housing, and land ownership, urging citizens to resist exploitation and the government to prioritise the welfare of Kenyans.

The Wiper leader highlighted the importance of ensuring accessible education for all Kenyans, advocating for employment opportunities under the Teacher Service Commission and the elimination of poor policies hindering progress.
