Kindiki says he’ll inspect projects before launch to ensure work is completed
The DP also responded to criticism of the ongoing road project between Isiolo and Mandera counties, which some social media users have mocked.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has announced that he will personally oversee the inspection of government projects before they are launched or commissioned.
In a move aimed at ensuring full financing and timely completion, Kindiki said his involvement will help protect President William Ruto from ridicule due to incomplete or delayed projects.

"I will be leading inspection of government projects before they are launched or commissioned," he said on Tuesday.
"We must guard against ridicule directed at the President for projects launched and are not commenced or completed. Before the President is engaged, I'll make sure we have end-to-end financing to avoid embarrassing the President," the DP said.
Kindiki made the remarks at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi where he hosted Meru County leaders, professionals, and stakeholders for a consultative session on priority development projects.
The DP also responded to criticism of the ongoing road project between Isiolo and Mandera counties, which some social media users have mocked.
He explained that there are currently 11 contractors working on the major road project, which is set to be completed in two and a half years.
"Some are making fun of the huge road project we are constructing between Isiolo and Mandera. This is a massive project that will be completed in the next two and a half years. You can make fun of it to be applauded online, but we are focused because it will be the same road we will be using to explain to the people there what we have done for them," Kindiki said.
The DP added that critics of the project likely have no understanding of the regions involved.
"We already have 11 contractors on site and soon that part of the country will be opened up for economic transformation," Kindiki added.
His comments came in response to a viral video mocking President Ruto after he mentioned several towns along the Isiolo-Mandera road that will be connected by the road.
