The Principal Secretary of Immigration, Julias Bitok, held productive discussions today with a delegation from Pakistan, focusing on exploring best practices in inter-agency coordination frameworks for effective border management.

Mr. Bitok stated that Kenya is poised for a comprehensive review of its own border management system in the near future, with a strategic emphasis on optimizing migrant flow management. This initiative, he noted, aligns with the government's commitment to enhancing both national security and immigration processes.

Recognizing Pakistan's robust border management system, Mr. Bitok expressed Kenya's eagerness to learn and incorporate best practices that will foster a more secure and efficient framework for managing migrant movement. The Pakistani delegation, led by Khushal Khan, Additional Secretary from the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, welcomed this collaborative approach.

Previously, the delegation met with Principal Secretary and National Administration Raymond Omolo to gain insights into Kenya's integrated border management strategy. During that meeting, they expressed particular interest in understanding the technological framework and business processes underlying Kenya's new visa-free entry system.

This week-long strategic tour, facilitated by the Border Management Secretariat and the International Organization for Migration, provides valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and capacity building in effective border management practices.
