Ruto vows to push forward with job creation for Youth despite challenges

President William Ruto, speaking in Meru County on Saturday, sounded the alarm on Kenya's high unemployment rate, calling it an "existential threat" demanding unity from all branches of government – executive, legislature, and judiciary.

"Every leader," he declared, "must have a conversation about this crisis." His words carried urgency, highlighting the plight of millions of young Kenyans who struggle to find work after years of schooling.

This unwavering stance comes on the heels of a court ruling halting the controversial housing levy, deemed unconstitutional due to legal ambiguities. But Ruto remains undeterred. He vowed to appeal the decision and enact the necessary legislation to safeguard his flagship housing program, a core component of his job-creation strategy.

"Through these projects," he explained, "Kenyans, especially the young, are gaining skills and earning a living." He emphasized the unprecedented nature of his administration's focus on youth employment, calling it a "demonstrable plan" with tangible results.
