DPP recalls police file in Ringtone's Sh50 million land fraud case for review

The magistrate warned Ringtone from taking pictures of the complainant or issuing threats to him after she accused him of taking her photos while in court.

The Director of Public Prosecution has recalled a police file in a criminal case where gospel singer, Alex Apoko alias Ringtone, and his co-accused Alfred Juma Ayora are charged with Sh50 million land fraud located in Karen belonging to Teresia Adhiambo.

The prosecution told trial Magistrate Dolphinar Alego that the DPP seeks to review criminal charges facing the two accused persons.

The prosecution sought a period of one month to enable the DPP to review the file.

At the same time, the magistrate warned Ringtone from taking pictures of the complainant or issuing threats to him after she accused him of taking her photos while in court.

Ringtone was spotted taking the pictures in court, which the magistrate found was unlawful.

The court directed the matter to be mentioned on September 8, 2025, to confirm the decision of the DPP.

They have since denied the charges and are out on a Sh1million cash bail.
