Court shown chilling CCTV evidence in case against accused serial killer Hashim Dagane

The suspect stands accused of murdering four women in separate incidents last year.

Court proceedings before a Nairobi court have revealed CCTV footage tracking the movements of Hashim Dagane Muhumed, also known as Hashim Mohamed Khalif, who stands accused of murdering four women in separate incidents last year.

Hashim has denied all charges and pleaded not guilty to four counts of murder, contrary to Sections 203 and 204 of the Penal Code.

The accused allegedly killed Dahabo Daud Said, alias Waris, on the night of October 21 to October 22, 2024, in Kyumbi, Machakos County.

On the same night, he is also accused of murdering Amina Abdi Rashid Dhahir and Musayba Abdi Mohammed in Parklands, Nairobi.

The fourth victim, Hashim's girlfriend Deka Abdi Noor Gorane, was reportedly killed on the night of October 29 to October 30, 2024, at Valley Heights Apartments in Lavington, Nairobi.

During the hearing before Lady Justice Margaret Muigai, Corporal Lawrence Kamau, a CCTV expert, presented footage detailing the sequence of events. The officer testified that at 7.48 pm on October 21, 2024, a woman dressed in black was captured entering an elevator at a building in Eastleigh Section 4. Minutes later, she is seen exiting and entering a parked vehicle, which drove off shortly thereafter.

Later that night, the same car was captured at Total Energies Athi River, where it was fueled between 11.49 pm and 11.51 pm. The vehicle returned to the Eastleigh building just after midnight, where two women were seen leaving the building, conversing, and eventually entering the car around 1.03 am. The vehicle then departed, as shown in the footage.

The CCTV evidence further captured a chilling moment at Sixth Avenue Parklands. At 4.36 am, the car is seen parked near an apartment, and at 4.46 am, it reverses over an object, which Officer Kamau stated appeared to be a human body.

"When the vehicle was reversing, there was someone on the ground. Blood was found at the scene, and the body had been moved. That is why I am saying the object was a human body," Corporal Kamau told the court.

The court proceedings continue as investigators present further evidence linking Hashim to the killings.

The case has drawn intense public attention due to the gruesome nature of the murders and the multiple locations involved.
