Police are also pursuing more suspects, including a woman who was allegedly at the scene of the incident.
Three police officers from Kikuyu Police Station were also arrested in connection with the murder of Kelian.
According to a source close to the investigation, the three failed to enter the incident involving the DJ and Kelian in the occurrence book. The three officers are said to have been at the scene of the accident, sorted out the issue, and allowed those involved to go.
“They are being held as suspects following the murder,” the police report dated March 23, 2024, read in part.
Inspector Kelian died on Friday while receiving treatment at Nairobi West Hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for injuries sustained after the alleged beating.
“He had earlier complained of abdominal pains and was on treatment. Preliminary investigations reveal that he was assaulted by known persons after an altercation over a traffic accident,” a police report seen by The Eastleigh Voice read in part.
The body of deputy DCIO has been moved to Umash Funeral Home as police investigations on the matter continue.
