The Mombasa Woman Representative Zamzam Mohamed is advocating for the stringent enforcement of laws crafted by parliament. Ms. Mohamed expressed concerns about the government's selective implementation of legislation designed to combat terrorism. In her impassioned address, she highlighted the injustice of passing laws only to see them subjectively applied, causing lawmakers to feel disheartened and citizens disillusioned.

"It is an injustice to enact laws meant to protect and secure our people, only to witness the government arbitrarily choosing whom to hold accountable under these laws,” Ms. Mohammed stated.

Addressing the parliament, Ms. Mohamed shed light on the plight of numerous youths disappearing under mysterious circumstances, leaving devastated families in their wake. She emphasized, "Families are left in agony, grappling with the inexplicable disappearance of their loved ones."

Ms. Mohamed's words carried a poignant reminder of past injustices, invoking the haunting memory of Sheikh Aboud Rogo and the harsh treatment endured by Muslim clerics in earlier times. She drew attention to recent events, where a main suspect linked to the Shakahola killings received what she perceived as a shockingly lenient sentence, merely a one-year jail term.

"If we painstakingly craft laws to protect our society," she asserted, "then it's imperative that the government upholds these laws without bias or favoritism."
