17 senior police officers reassigned as Deputy IG names new GSU Deputy Commander

This reshuffle marks Lagat's first major organisational change since assuming his role at the end of last month.
The Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police Eliud Lagat Monday on Monday made sweeping changes within the police service after moving 17 senior officers.
Jonathan Murray, the Commanding Officer of National Police College (NPC) Embakasi Campus, communicated the changes through an internal memo to all faculties, sections, and the Magadi Field Campus.

Richard Disii Rotich, who was previously the deputy regional police commander of Rift Valley, took on the role of the new deputy General Service Unit (GSU) commander was among the notable changes.
Edward Kipsang Changach was reassigned from a supervisory role to serve as the new County Police Commander (CPC) of Lamu County.
The position of commanding officer at Embakasi B Campus now belongs to William Samoei Kibiwott, who was previously the CPC of Lamu County.
Titus Nzioka Mutune has been named the deputy commanding officer of Embakasi B Campus, while Judy Mutinda Lkalondu will now serve as the staff officer personnel at the Kenya Airports Police Unit.
Joshua Kasoka has been appointed the commanding officer at police headquarters, with William Sawe taking on the role of head of operations at the GSU.
Nickson Auka will now be stationed at the police headquarters.
"This is to bring to your attention that the DIG KPS has approved the deployment of the following officers," the internal memo signed by Murray read in part.
The officer in charge of the leadership and management faculty at B Campus is now Judy Gichumba.
Bernard Mbatha will assume the role of deputy director of operations at police headquarters.
Charles Chesir is now in charge of transport at GSU; Mwanadoyo Mayaa now takes over the Gender and Welfare Department at GSU and David Kigai will be the deputy commander at the headquarters.
Cleti Kimaiyo, who previously served as the Siaya County police commander, has been moved to the position of deputy head of GSU’s Recce unit.
James Mamir will take charge of training, while Vitalis Adawa has relocated to the headquarters. The sub-county commander of Rachuonyo is Philomen Leshoo.
