Kenyans have been encouraged to stay vigilant as the weather shifts over the coming days.
The Kenya Meteorological Department has predicted sunny weather in Nairobi and surrounding counties for most of Thursday and Friday, with light to moderate rainfall expected in the afternoon and evening.
In its weather forecast, the department said that some areas could experience heavy rainfall, with amounts reaching up to 20mm, along with isolated storms.

Residents have been urged to stay prepared for potential disruptions.
"Be weather-aware and ready for potential disruptions," the weatherman advised.
While the forecast suggests clear skies for much of the day, occasional light to moderate rainfall will affect certain regions, including the highlands west and east of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the south Rift Valley, the coastal region, and the south eastern lowlands.
The department also noted that parts of the central Rift Valley and the highlands west of the Rift Valley will experience sunny intervals.
Nights will be partly cloudy, with a chance of occasional showers in areas like Narok and the Lake Victoria Basin.
North western Kenya will remain sunny during the day, with partly cloudy nights.
The highlands east of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi County, will enjoy sunny intervals in the morning, with a few areas likely to see showers by Friday night.
In north eastern counties such as Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo, the forecast predicts sunny days and partly cloudy nights.
Meanwhile, the south eastern lowlands, including areas like Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, and parts of Tana River County, will experience mostly sunny conditions with light afternoon showers in some areas.
The coastal region, including Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, will also enjoy sunny intervals, though morning showers are expected in some places, which may extend into the early afternoon.
Nights on the coast will be partly cloudy.
