Horror in Kamulu: Missing boy found stabbed to death in a thicket

The gruesome discovery has left the family shattered, struggling to understand who could have done such a horrific act to their child.

A family in Kamulu, Nairobi, is in deep anguish after their 13-year-old son was found brutally murdered, his body dumped in a thicket just 200 meters from his grandmother's home.

The boy had been missing for four days before a neighbour stumbled upon his lifeless body, still in his school uniform, with multiple stab wounds.

The gruesome discovery has left the family shattered, struggling to understand who could have done such a horrific act to their child.

His grandmother, who was called to identify the body, described the chilling moment.

"I was called by one of the neighbours and told to go and identify a body. A boy's body had been found in a thicket next to a neighbour's shop. In my head, I knew it was my grandson," she recounted in an interview with Citizen TV.

"When we went to the bush, we found out that it was indeed my grandson in his school uniform and bag. He had one big stab wound that went all through the stomach and other stab wounds in the neck and hands," she added.

The boy had disappeared on his way home from school and his family had been searching for him desperately.

When he was finally found, the sight of his small body, covered in deep wounds, painted a picture of unimaginable pain.

His mother, struggling to contain her grief, described the horror of his final moments.

"If you see how my child died, you will recognise that it was a very painful death for a small child. It looked like he was struggling, and the stab wounds on his hands showed that. Plus, he had other stab wounds and his shoes were missing," she said.

Demanding answers

As the family mourns, they are also demanding answers.

They say the police have been slow in investigating the case and fear that justice may never come.

"The police said they started investigations, but we have not heard from them since. They asked me whether I had disagreed with anyone, but I told them I have no enemies," the boy's grandmother said.

His father echoed the family's plea for justice.

"One thing I would like to plead for is for us to get justice. If there is any way we can know who committed the crime and why it happened, we would want to know," he said.

The boy's brutal killing has heightened fears in Kamulu where cases of violence have been on the rise.

Residents say his murder is not an isolated incident.

They point to a recent case where a boy was sodomised and a woman raped, raising concerns that a dangerous criminal or a gang may be preying on the community.

Now, the family and locals are urging the authorities to take action before more people perish.
