Mogadishu City club clinches 2024/25 Somalia Premier League title

Mogadishu City Club have been crowned champions of the 2024/25 Somalia Premier League after a 3-1 win over Raadsan FC sealed their seventh national title with a game to spare.
Mogadishu City Club (MCC) on Saturday defeated Raadsan FC 3-1 to win the Somalia Premier League title for the 2024/25 season. The win took MCC to 56 points, nine ahead of second-placed Heegan FC, with one game left to play.
The match was held at Mogadishu Stadium, which hosts fixtures for the Somali Premier League. MCC players and coaching staff celebrated the victory with their fans at the venue.

The Somali Premier League features 12 teams competing for the national title. With MCC leading the table by nine points, Heegan FC, who have a game in hand, having played 20 matches, can no longer catch up.
MCC represents the Banaadir Regional Administration (BRA), also known as the Municipality of Mogadishu. This is the club’s seventh Somali Football Federation (SFF) title. Their last league win came in the 2019/20 season.
“Thank God. We have finally won the Somalia National League for the 2024/2025 season. Apart from Allah, we thank our supporters who consistently contribute to the team’s success. Thank you, our fans. Vamos MCC,” the club posted on its official Facebook page, alongside a team photo captioned “Champions.”

The Somali Football Federation (SFF) also congratulated MCC on winning the league, posting: “Mogadishu City Club are the winner of the 24/25 Somali National League.”
Abdiaziz Osman Mohamed, the Deputy Head of Social Affairs for the Banaadir Regional Administration, thanked the team for their efforts and said the win was the result of months of hard work, training, and dedication.
“The players of Mogadishu City Club, their coaches, administrators and fans, we congratulate you for winning the Somalia Premier League this year. This win comes from the team’s good play, good training, high discipline and better coordination,” Abdiaziz said in a statement issued by his office.
Saadiya Ali, a long-time MCC supporter, also shared her joy.
“We are the champions! Am so happy we won. I have supported MCC since my childhood because my late father used to work for the Municipal Council of Mogadishu. I dedicate the win to him. Vamoos MCC, we are the champions,” Saadiya told Eastleigh Voice.
