Update: Facebook, Instagram restored after two-hour outage

Many Kenyan users have expressed frustration on social media platforms like X, citing disruptions to their businesses.
Meta through its X account apologized to its users for the inconvenience caused following an almost two-hour outage.
“We know some people were having trouble accessing our apps earlier. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you for your patience while our teams worked quickly to resolve!”

Meta’s communication officer Andy Stone stated that there was a technical issue, causing users not to access the social media platforms.
“We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
Facebook, owned by Meta, experienced widespread outages on Tuesday evening, leaving users worldwide unable to access their accounts.
Upon attempting to log in, users encountered error messages requesting them to log into their Facebook accounts.
Many Kenyan users expressed frustration on social media platforms like X, citing disruptions to their businesses.
Additionally, numerous users reported being unexpectedly logged out with no option to log back in.
Meanwhile, Instagram seemed to be functioning properly for most app users, although certain desktop users are encountering difficulties.
