Live blog: By-elections' vote tallying continues across the country

IEBC Chairperson Erastus Ethekon has condemned acts of violence, intimidation, or disruption reported in isolated areas during the voting process on Thursday.

Polling stations have officially closed according to the set Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) timelines, except for those which opened late, across 22 areas for the by-elections.

IEBC, together with security officials and observers, has assured Kenyans that the exercise will be conducted in a secure, transparent, and well-coordinated manner.

Several constituencies with tight races and historical disputes have drawn heightened public interest, serving as a litmus test for the IEBC, political leaders, and parties, especially as the 2027 General Election approaches.
