President Ruto meets German's Olaf on the sidelines of G20 conference in Berlin

During the G20 Conference with Africa held in Berlin, Kenya's delegation, led by President William Ruto, engaged in constructive discussions on various bilateral issues with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The talks built upon the foundation laid during Chancellor Scholz's visit to Kenya in May 2023, where economic relations, regional conflicts, and renewable energies were key topics of discussion. The chancellor expressed support for the African Union's bid to join the G20 during his visit to Nairobi.

The ongoing discussions in Berlin provided an avenue for both nations to explore collaboration opportunities and reinforce their relationship. Kenya and Germany seek to capitalize on their shared values and interests to drive mutual growth and development. Chancellor Scholz reaffirmed his commitment to Kenya's mission in Haiti and expressed solidarity with Kenya's efforts to promote peace in the Horn of Africa. Kenya and Germany have maintained long-standing diplomatic ties since 1963, with significant interests in trade, investment, industrial promotion, education, health, cultural promotion, and environmental conservation. These robust relations serve as the basis for collaborative efforts to enhance the well-being of their respective populations.

Germany, situated in Central Europe with a population of 82 million and a GDP of 4.26 trillion, ranks as the world's fourth-largest economy after Japan, China, and the U.S.
