Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura says anyone with credible information on alleged rape and other crimes during the Ol Kalou by-election should submit it to investigators, warning against spreading unverified claims.

The government has urged anyone with evidence relating to allegations of rape and other crimes during the recent Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election to submit it to investigators, insisting that all claims should be handled through the country's legal and investigative processes.
Speaking during a press briefing on Monday, Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura called on members of the public with credible information to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to facilitate investigations.
He said allegations of serious crimes must be supported by evidence to enable authorities to establish the facts and take appropriate legal action where necessary.

"Anyone with evidence relating to the alleged rape cases or any other criminal offences should present it to the relevant investigative agencies so that investigations can be conducted and justice served," Mwaura said.
He cautioned against circulating unverified claims, warning that they could inflame public emotions and interfere with ongoing investigations.
Mwaura said investigative agencies should be allowed to carry out their constitutional mandate independently and professionally without external interference.

He also warned against incitement and the spread of misinformation, saying inaccurate information could undermine public order and compromise investigations.
"The government remains committed to ensuring that every reported crime is investigated in accordance with the law," he said.
His remarks come amid public debate over claims of violence, including allegations of rape, during the Ol Kalou by-election. The government has maintained that any criminal allegations should be investigated through the established legal framework rather than determined through public statements.
During the briefing, Mwaura reiterated the government's commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability where sufficient evidence exists.
He urged members of the public with information about any alleged offences to cooperate with investigators instead of relying on unverified reports.
The government's appeal follows growing calls from various quarters for investigations into the allegations surrounding the by-election, with the outcome expected to depend on the findings of the relevant investigative agencies.
