Mombasa grieves loss of pioneering actor James Osoo

Mombasa County is grieving the loss of pioneering actor, James Osoo.
Osoo was a stalwart in the arts community, serving as the organizing secretary and chairman of Kizingo Arts Troupe.
He mentored numerous talents, including the renowned Lulu Hassan of Citizen TV, leaving an indelible mark on Kenya's arts scene.
Seeking new opportunities, Osoo later moved to Dubai, where he diligently worked until his untimely passing on December 6, 2023.
While his family believes there was no foul play, they await the medical report to confirm the exact cause.
He was also mourned by human rights organizations such as Muhuri where he worked.
“Muhuri stands in solidarity with James' family, friends, and colleagues during this challenging time,” the rights organisation said.
Ongoing Communication with Trust Guard, Osoo's employer, aims to bring his remains home by Saturday, December 16.
Osoo will be remembered as a dedicated artist and a cherished member of the arts in Mombasa.
His legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the art he helped flourish.
