Sudden Death of Somali Minister in Djibouti

Khadija, a devoted public servant for two decades, fell critically ill upon her arrival in Djibouti, prompting an urgent hospitalization. Her sudden demise sent shockwaves, abruptly halting the conference sessions on its second day. The Heritage Institute expressed regret, canceling all concurrent sessions and the scheduled dinner at Kempinski, initially meant to commemorate the institute's 11th anniversary.

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, currently in Djibouti, expressed shock, stating, "Somalia has lost a true patriot and a dedicated, hardworking minister." Djibouti’s Culture, Islamic Affairs, Endowments Minister Moumin Hassan Barre visited to offer condolences to the PM, Somali ministers, MPs, and the Heritage Institute's leadership and delegates.
Eastleigh Voice has learned from Somali government sources that a planning committee has been established to facilitate the repatriation of the Minister's remains for an official burial in Mogadishu tomorrow.
