The state has unveiled a 10-member committee from Isiolo to track the progress on implementation of ongoing and planned national government projects in the county.

"We will have an annual meeting with the committee to evaluate the progress achieved and existing challenges," he said.
Kindiki said Isiolo County had the lowest electricity connectivity, urging leaders to prioritise villages that were to benefit from the Sh36 billion set aside by the government to boost the Last-Mile Connectivity Project.
During the forum, the leaders were also asked to propose and present 10 priority projects for the county. Key discussions centred on strengthening security through the operationalisation of the new administrative units, boosting the livestock sector through the export of livestock and livestock products, improving road infrastructure, commissioning last-mile electricity connectivity and establishing the Isiolo County Emergency and Trauma Center.
The DP appealed to the pastoralist community in Isiolo to support the national livestock vaccination programme.
"The President signed a livestock export deal with the United Arab Emirates and plans are ongoing to secure more potential international markets for our livestock and livestock products. This cannot be achieved without having a vaccination programme for our livestock. We need to unlock the existing potential in the livestock sector for this region," he said.
Kindiki regretted how the hides and skin value chain had been neglected for a long period, denying the pastoralist community high economic gains.
He emphasised how the Kenya Leather Industrial Park in Kenaine, Machakos will transform the sector creating economic opportunities for the pastoralist communities.
"You will no longer be throwing hides and skin for dogs and hyenas to feast on. The new industry will be a life changer, hides and skin are the most valued items in the livestock sector. We have already received applications from 300 applicants dealing with leather products that are eyeing business opportunities at the ongoing leather industrial park," stated the DP.
The deputy president also announced efforts by the government to unlock the potential of the mining sector to create wealth for the local community.
He assured the leaders that Isiolo County would also benefit from the government's programme to establish new markets in the counties.
Kindiki called on leaders to put aside political differences and focus on sustainable and meaningful development projects that will have a positive impact on the region.
Leaders who attended the forum included State Principal Secretary Mohamed Liban, Isiolo Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo, Woman Representative Mumina Bonaya, Isiolo North MP Samal Lomwa, Deputy Governor James Lowasa, County Assembly Speaker Mohamed Roba, MCAs, county executive committee members and community representatives.
