Four suspects arrested as police rescue two minors in Garissa abduction attempt
According to a police report, the incident occurred at around 10 am when one Surura Hire reported that two of his grandchildren, a girl aged 10 and a boy aged 7, had left home for their regular Islamic lessons, about two kilometres south of the local police station.
Police have rescued two minors who had been kidnapped in Garissa and forced into a black Toyota Land Cruiser before being driven to an unknown destination.
The children were found in neighbouring Tana River County aboard the same vehicle, alongside six other occupants who are now in custody.

According to a police report, the incident occurred at around 10 am when one Surura Hire reported that two of his grandchildren, a girl aged 10 and a boy aged 7, had left home for their regular Islamic lessons, about two kilometres south of the local police station.
“Information later received indicated that the children were seen being forced into a black Land Cruiser Prado, registration number KDL 171S, which then drove off in an unknown direction,” the report stated.
Police swiftly launched a search operation based on the report, and the vehicle was successfully intercepted at a police roadblock in Garsen, Tana River County.
Upon inspection, officers found the two minors in the car along with four adults; three men and one woman. The suspects were identified as: Ibrahim Saeed Same, an Australian national aged 42, Ali Ada Kuno, a Somali male aged 23, Khalid Abdullahi Mohammed, a Somali male aged 25 and Malyun Kassim Hussein, a female aged 35.
The suspects are currently in custody and are being processed, pending further legal action.
