As preparations for his wedding ceremony were underway, Abdirizaq’s sudden disappearance left family and friends in shock and confusion.
His elder brother, Qassim Daqane, told The Eastleigh Voice that Abdirizaq was expected to marry a woman he had been in a relationship with.
The nikkah ceremony was scheduled to take place just a few hours after his disappearance.
Qassim said the family is struggling to understand what happened, noting there were no signs of abduction or force, and he believes Abdirizaq may have left voluntarily.
"Nobody abducted or took him, I believe he walked away on his own," said Qassim. “Immediately after morning prayers, he was not seen again, and nobody knows where he went.”
The disappearance was reported to the Garissa Police Station on Saturday night.
No trace
The family said they searched all nearby areas but had found no trace of him by Saturday evening.
The family is appealing to the public for help in locating Abdirizaq, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to get in touch.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the family on 0722 947067.
Although the reason for Abdirizaq’s disappearance remains unknown, his family says he faced no recent conflict or pressure and continues to wait anxiously for any information that could help locate him.
In recent years, Garissa has seen reports of people going missing under unclear circumstances.
There have also been allegations of enforced disappearances linked to security operations in the region, although in this case, the family has not reported any indications of involvement by security agencies.
The search for Abdirizaq is still ongoing, with his family holding onto hope that he will be found safe and well.
