According to reports, a 22-year-old boda boda operator was ambushed and fatally stabbed by two men posing as passengers in the Manyatta Ginda area on Wednesday night.
The attack occurred near the PACIDA offices around 10 p.m., where the assailants stabbed him multiple times in the neck, ribs, and back.
Security officials suspect the attackers may have been attempting to steal the motorcycle, but the attempt failed.
In response, boda boda riders lit bonfires and blocked roads early Thursday, condemning the rising insecurity in Marsabit and demanding swift justice.
Marsabit Central Sub-county Deputy Commissioner David Saruni confirmed the incident, saying investigations are underway. He assured residents that security agencies are pursuing the suspects and urged the public to remain calm.
This killing mirrors a similar case months ago in Marta Arba, where another rider was slain, deepening fears over escalating crime in the county.
