President Ruto officially flags off the iconic WRC Safari Rally

President of the Republic of Kenya H.E William Samoei Ruto officially inaugurated the 71st edition of the World Rallying Championship Safari Rally today at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.

Addressing the gathered crowd, President Ruto hailed the Safari Rally as a symbol of Kenya's enduring legacy in motorsports and an opportunity to display the nation's natural beauty to the world.

"The return of the Safari Rally to Kenya in 2019 after nearly two decades serves as a testament to the spirit of revival and the resilience of our nation," remarked President Ruto, emphasizing the event's significance in the global sporting arena.

With anticipation building for this year's rally, President Ruto highlighted the economic benefits generated by the event, including increased tourism, media coverage, and investment opportunities.

"We are thoroughly prepared to receive rally enthusiasts from around the world, greet them with high-speed racing, and showcase the warmth and hospitality of the Kenyan people," President Ruto assured.

Encouraging all Kenyans to support the teams and celebrate Easter in style, President Ruto extended a warm welcome to visitors from near and far.

"To all our visitors, welcome home," President Ruto concluded, officially launching the 2024 WRC Safari Rally amidst cheers and applause.
