Duale to former CS Justin Muturi: There’s nothing wrong with me being close to seat of power
Despite their differing political views, CS Duale expressed a willingness to discuss the issue with Muturi.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has responded to accusations from former Public Service CS Justin Muturi, who claimed that Duale spends too much time at State House.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s JKLive on Wednesday, Duale dismissed Muturi's allegations, questioning why he was singled out when other government officials also frequent the seat of power.

Muturi, in a recent interview, suggested that Duale's frequent presence at State House was a sign of his closeness to the country's top power.
However, Duale was quick to refute the claims.
“That's him. What's wrong if I hang around the seat of power? Is there a crime? If he didn’t have the privilege, he shouldn't be envious of me,” Duale remarked.
He further noted that such comments were "very pedestrian" and called on leaders to focus on issues that matter to the public rather than engaging in political theatrics.
Addressing the matter with a sense of camaraderie, Duale mentioned the long-standing friendship he shared with Muturi.
Despite their differing political views, he expressed a willingness to discuss the issue with Muturi.
“I served him when I was the Leader of Majority and him as the Speaker. I have a lot of respect for him, but there are certain offices that the society views differently,” Duale said, referring to the offices of high-ranking leaders and their expectations in the public eye.
CS Duale also shared his thoughts on Mount Kenya politics, praising President William Ruto’s five-day tour of the region.
He took the opportunity to respond to comments made by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who had previously claimed that Ruto’s presence in Mount Kenya would not be successful.
“Riggy G told us that the President cannot go to Mt Kenya, and he can’t touch the mountain. The President went there for five days," Duale remarked, adding that Gachagua should return to the region and replicate Ruto’s efforts.
Duale advised leaders to serve the people with substance rather than focusing on petty politics.
He emphasised the need for public figures to deliver real solutions to the people they represent.
