Two Somali soldiers executed for role in assassination of SNA commander
Supreme Military Court chairman Liban Ali Yarrow also issued a stern warning to Al-Shabaab supporters in Somalia, stating that they will be executed by firing squad if found.
Two Somali soldiers who were sentenced to death by a military court in early August for their alleged involvement in the assassination of a Somali National Army (SNA) battalion commander have been executed.
Local media reports indicate that one of the suspects handled the explosive device that killed Commander Aided Mohamed Ali, while the other placed it under his bed before it was remotely detonated.

"They were executed today (Monday) for their involvement in the assassination of Commander Aided Mohamed Ali," prosecutor Hassan Siyad Mohamed said, according to TRT Global.
Supreme Military Court chairman Liban Ali Yarrow also issued a stern warning to Al-Shabaab supporters in Somalia, stating that they will be executed by firing squad if found.
"Anyone found to have links with the terrorists and proven, one day God will expose you, and you will come out, and we will find you and execute you by firing squad," he said.
The development comes just a week after three Al-Shabaab militants found guilty of killing innocent civilians were executed by firing squad.
Somalia has intensified its campaign against Al Shabab in recent months, increasing military operations and intelligence efforts across key regions to dismantle the insurgents' networks and curb their influence.
On Sunday, for instance, a military operation targeting the militia group killed a senior Al-Shabaab official in Warta Eey Duure, about 30 kilometres north of Hudur, the capital of South West state.
The deceased, Abdullahi Abukar Ali, was Al Shabaab's finance chief, responsible for collecting extorted funds from civilians and overseeing the recruitment of child soldiers.
Authorities described the operation as a precise strike that significantly weakened Al-Shabab's network in the area.
"This precision operation has eliminated a significant threat and dealt a major blow to Al Shabab's operational network in the region," Somalia's Defence Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
