CS Kindiki made the announcement during his visit to West Pokot County, where he inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of schools funded by the Interior Ministry. Notable among the nine schools under rehabilitation in West Pokot are Cheptulel Boys, Chesogon High School, Sapulmoi, Lonyangalen, Korur, Songok Secondary Schools, Karon Primary School, and Kisa ECD School.

Accompanied by Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Dr. Abdi Hassan, CS Kindiki expressed concern about the abandoned schools resulting from a series of attacks in the region. He emphasized the importance of restoring social amenities and educational facilities in areas previously affected by armed banditry.
"The progressive pacification of spaces where marauding gangs of armed bandits had terrorized Kenyans in the North Rift for long gives way to rehabilitation of schools and other social amenities abandoned and some destroyed by bandits," stated the CS.
In addition to touring the rehabilitation efforts, CS Kindiki visited security officers actively engaged in the Maliza Uhalifu security operation in West Pokot. This follows his recent inspection in Baringo County, further highlighting the government's commitment to ensuring the safety and resumption of normalcy in the affected regions.
