Death of Farhia Boss Lady sends shockwaves across Somalia

The sudden death of Farhia Boss Lady, wife of Somali musician Dayax Dalnuurshe, has sent shockwaves across the country.

Farhia, a well-known Somali celebrity, passed away in Mogadishu on Wednesday morning after a brief illness.

Dayax Dalnuurshe had shared news of his wife's illness on social media just a day before her passing. In a post on TikTok, he wrote, "Oh God, make her healthy, please pray for her," alongside a picture of her. By the time her death was announced, the post had been viewed over 1.6 million times.

Farhia was a prominent figure on social media and in the business world. She was a model and a leading entrepreneur in the cosmetic industry, managing multiple businesses. Her passing has prompted an outpouring of grief, with thousands offering their condolences online.

Content creator Munasar Mohamed confirmed her death through her relatives and expressed his loss.

"As I have just confirmed with the family, my cousin Dayax Dalnuurshe has lost his wife, Farxiyo. She had been unwell over the past few days and, sadly, passed away this morning. I extend my deepest condolences to my cousin Dayax and Farxiyo's family during this difficult time," he said.

Idris Alteso, another well-known creator, joined in mourning the loss. "May Allah have mercy on her. This is truly a heartbreaking loss. Innaa Lillahi wa Innaa Ilayhi Raajicuun. Please pray for our sister Farxiyo, that Allah grants her mercy and blesses her with Paradise. May Allah bring comfort to Dayax's heart during this difficult time," he said.

Farhia leaves behind one daughter. She is the first Somali celebrity to pass away in 2025. Burial preparations are currently underway in Mogadishu.

The death of Farhia has left many reflecting on the fragility of life. Her family, friends, and fans are mourning her loss while offering prayers and support to Dayax Dalnuurshe and his family during this time of grief.
