Turkey-based striker Shilwatso remained adamant that the Starlets must secure a win against their visitors to ease the pressure ahead of their away fixture in Tunisia. She emphasised that this was a second chance for the team to redeem itself.
"This opportunity has come again; we lost the last one, so we must make the most of it. A must-win home game will make our away match easier. If we win at home, the away fixture will be for fun," Shilwatso said.
Wambui echoed this confidence, stating that their training and preparation at camp had given them the assurance needed to face Tunisia.
"We are confident because we have learnt a lot during our preparations, and with the home support, we are ready for the match. We know we are going to win," affirmed Wambui.
Coach Beldine Odemba reinforced the duo's sentiments, stressing the importance of securing victory on home soil.
"It is crucial for us to win that match on the day. If we are to progress past this round, we must do it at home," she stated. She added that the team is working hard towards this goal and urged fans to turn up in large numbers to show their support.
"We are putting in a lot of effort, and we urge our fans to come out in numbers. It's not an ideal day, but we didn't have a choice. The calendar allowed us to pick between the 19th and 21st, and the 21st was the most suitable date considering all factors."
