Kenya to face DR Congo in CHAN 2024 opener at Kasarani as CAF releases full fixture list

CAF has released the full match schedule for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from August 2 to 30, 2025. Kenya will begin their Group A campaign against DR Congo on August 3 at Kasarani Stadium.
CAF has officially announced the match schedule for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), with Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda set to co-host the continental tournament from August 2 to August 30, 2025.
Kenya will kick off its Group A campaign on Sunday, August 3, against DR Congo at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

The Harambee Stars will then face Angola on Wednesday, August 6 at the same venue before wrapping up the group phase with a clash against Morocco on Saturday, August 9 at 6:00 p.m.
The opening match of the tournament will take place on Saturday, August 2 in Dar es Salaam, with hosts Tanzania taking on Burkina Faso at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium at 8:00 p.m.
Group stage matches will also be held in Uganda and across Tanzania, with key clashes including Uganda vs Algeria on August 4 in Kampala, and Senegal vs Nigeria on August 12 at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
Quarter-final matches will begin on August 19, with semi-finals set for August 25 and 26.
The third-place play-off will be held in Kampala on Friday, August 29, followed by the final at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi on Saturday, August 30 at 6:00 p.m.
Kenya is placed in a challenging Group A alongside DR Congo, Angola, and Morocco, while Tanzania hosts Group B, Uganda leads Group C, and Group D features defending champions Senegal.
