Posta Rangers strike twice to take first leg advantage over Naivas FC

Posta Rangers boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 win over Naivas FC in the first leg of the FKF Premier League promotion/relegation playoff, thanks to a second-half brace from Felix Oluoch Mboya.
Posta Rangers took a crucial step towards retaining their FKF Premier League status with a 2-0 victory over Naivas FC in the first leg of the 2024/25 promotion/relegation playoff, played at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday afternoon.
The first half ended goalless as both sides played cautiously, aware of what was at stake. However, the game opened up in the second half, and Rangers took control with Felix Oluoch Mboya striking twice in the 64th and 68th minutes, giving them a clear advantage heading into the return leg.

Naivas FC, who earned their playoff spot after finishing 3rd in the National Super League (NSL), now face an uphill task in the second leg. Posta Rangers, who finished 16th in the FKF Premier League and narrowly avoided automatic relegation, showed their experience at the top level with a composed second-half display.
The two teams will meet again in the decisive return leg on 2nd July 2025 at the Murang’a SportPesa Arena. The winner on aggregate will earn a place in the 2025/26 FKF Premier League, while the loser will play in the National Super League next season.
