Goalkeeper Job Ochieng steals the show in Kenya Police FC, Ulinzi stalemate

Ochieng's superb saves left Ulinzi Stars' attacking options frustrated time and again, and he was named Man of the Match after the 0-0 draw.
Kenya Police FC started their league season a bit late compared to other SportPesa Premier League teams.
This was due to their CAF championship-sanctioned matches that made their participation in the league a bit late; however, their day to join the battle came, and Ulinzi Stars, who had previously won and drawn their two matches, were the welcoming party to the 2024/25 champions.

The game was held at Police Sacco grounds, with the two teams failing to find each other's net; however, Ulinzi Stars appeared the better team, especially when it came to attacking, as they didn't fall short of shots.
Boniface Muchiri, substitute Omuse and Leonlevitt tried to muscle out shots, curlers and even far post shots, but the man between the posts, Job Ochieng, was firm, coached by the Burundian, Etienne Ndayiragije.
Ochieng's superb saves left Ulinzi Stars' attacking options frustrated time and again, and he was named Man of the Match after the 0-0 draw.
The Eastleigh Voice had a one-on-one conversation with the goalkeeper, asking him how the game was for him.
"The game was good but not so good because we didn't get the three points, but we thank God that one point is good enough to start the league rather than to stay with a negative," he told The Eastleigh Voice.
In Wednesday's match, the Harambee Stars head coach, together with his technical bench, was in attendance, and when asked if he felt the need to impress, Ochieng said that his focus was on the game and nothing else.
"Those are not things I keep in mind; my focus is to secure the three points, and the work of the coach is to select our work to play."
Kenya Police are defending their title against well-known clubs that have shown intent to cause trouble. They will lock horns again on Sunday, either at Gusii Stadium in Kisii or at Kericho Stadium, since APS Bomet, their host for the second game, secured Kericho Stadium as their home stadium.
