Tusker hold unbeaten Shabana as Gor Mahia and Mara Sugar bag crucial wins
Mara Sugar celebrated their first-ever top-flight victory, stunning Ulinzi Stars 2–1 through a David Omondi brace after Ibrahim Shambi had given the Soldiers an early lead.
Tusker FC battled from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against unbeaten Shabana FC in the standout match of Sunday’s SportPesa Premier League Round 4 at Dandora Stadium.
Shabana opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Austine Odongo calmly slotted home after a clever assist from debutant Bronson Nsuguba, who had replaced the injured Brian Michira early in the game. The Kisii-based side dominated possession and kept the brewers under pressure for most of the first half.

After the break, Tusker regrouped as coach Charles Okere introduced Vincent Otieno and Ian Simiyu to inject pace and urgency. The changes paid off in the 71st minute when Simiyu pounced on a defensive error from Okola to curl in the equaliser, ensuring both sides settled for a draw.
Elsewhere, Gor Mahia edged KCB FC 1–0 at Dandora, with Felix Oluoch scoring the decisive goal to hand the record champions back-to-back wins, even as Austine Odhiambo missed another penalty.
