The team is scheduled to depart for Ethiopia on Monday, where they will finalise preparations ahead of their tournament opener.

Kenya U-17 head coach William Muluya has unveiled the final 25-man squad for the upcoming U-17 AFCON CECAFA Qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Ethiopia from November 15 to December 2, 2025.

The Junior Stars have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan, and Rwanda, as they compete for one of two qualification slots available for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Muluya’s selection features some of the country’s most promising young talents, many of whom impressed during recent national scouting programs and regional training camps. The squad reflects a blend of school-based players and academy prospects eager to shine on the international stage.

The team is set to depart for Ethiopia on Monday, where they will finalise preparations ahead of their tournament opener.

Kenya will kick off their campaign against Somalia on November 18, aiming for a strong start in their quest to return to the continental stage. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the finalists securing CECAFA’s two slots for next year’s AFCON.

The Kenya U-17 national team heads into the qualifiers under the guidance of a well-structured technical bench led by Head Coach William Muluya. He will be assisted by Peter Okidi and Kenedy Mbunga, with Abdul Iddi Salim serving as the goalkeeper coach.

Eric Muranda will oversee the team’s physical conditioning, while Stephen Mwangi will manage logistics and equipment as kit manager.

Player welfare and compliance will be handled by safeguarding officer Andrew Ijela, with Dr Edwin Gumbo providing medical support as team doctor. Shaban Masika completes the backroom staff as team manager, coordinating administrative and operational matters throughout the tournament.

The Junior Stars will begin their campaign against Somalia on November 18 at 4:00 pm, followed by a match against Rwanda on November 21 at 1:00 pm.

Their third fixture will be against South Sudan on November 24 at 4:00 pm, and they will conclude the group stage with a highly anticipated clash against hosts Ethiopia on November 27 at 3:00 pm.

Kenya will be hoping for a strong performance across these fixtures as they pursue one of the two available qualification slots for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
