Pamzo parts ways with Posta Rangers as club installs Collins Omondi as head coach on interim basis
In an official statement, the Posta Rangers Management Board announced that Collins “Korea” Omondi has been appointed Interim Head Coach with immediate effect. Omondi, who has served as the first assistant coach since February 2021, will now lead the team for the remainder of the year.
Kenya Premier League side Posta Rangers have officially parted ways with long-serving head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo, bringing to an end yet another chapter of a 10-year-old relationship.
Omollo, who has recently been linked with a move to APS Bomet, was noticeably absent from the technical bench during the club’s most recent match against Kakamega Homeboyz.

The club has now confirmed that he has proceeded on a 30-day terminal leave, with his contract set to expire on December 31, 2025.
In an official statement, the Posta Rangers Management Board announced that Collins “Korea” Omondi has been appointed Interim Head Coach with immediate effect. Omondi, who has served as the first assistant coach since February 2021, will now lead the team for the remainder of the year.
“The Management Board of Posta Rangers FC has, with immediate effect, appointed Collins 'Korea' Omondi as the Interim Head Coach following the release of Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo from the Technical Bench.”
He will be assisted by Jaffer Salim and former Rangers midfielder Joseph Mbugi, both of whom, like Omondi, hold CAF B licences and bring significant experience to the restructured bench. The changes were communicated to the playing unit and technical staff during a performance review meeting earlier in the week.
Rangers had enjoyed a bright start to the 2025/26 campaign and currently sit sixth on the log with 13 points. They face Bidco United in their next league fixture.
Pamzo's exit marks the latest twist in a long, back-and-forth relationship with Rangers that began in 2016, when he was first appointed on a mission to establish the club among the league’s top competitors.
His impact was immediate. In May 2017, just a year after joining, Omollo was crowned Fidelity Insurance Coach of the Month for April after leading Rangers to victories against Western Stima, Mathare United, Kariobangi Sharks, and Sony Sugar.
His only slip in that period came via draws against Kakamega Homeboyz and AFC Leopards, a run that briefly placed Rangers at the summit of the league standings before Gor Mahia edged past them.
Omollo’s coaching journey since then has been characterised by movement in and out of the club: 2018/19: Left Rangers to join KCB as an assistant coach, February 2019: Joined Gor Mahia as an assistant coach, August 22, 2019: Returned to Posta Rangers, replacing John Kamau
He has since served multiple stints at the club, making him one of the most familiar figures in the Rangers' dugout over the past decade.
With Omondi now in charge and supported by Salim and Mbugi, Rangers hope to stabilise their campaign and maintain momentum as they push for a strong finish ahead of the mid-season break.
For Omollo, the future appears open, with reports suggesting he may be headed to APS Bomet. His extensive experience, including previous successes at Posta Ranger,s ensures he remains one of the most recognisable and sought-after coaching.
