FKF Confirms Hussein Mohammed as Murang'a Seal member, grants him access to Saturday's SGM

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Special General Meeting will be held on Saturday 24th August
After a long process initiated on March 5, 2024 by Murang`a Seal FC regarding the nomination of Hussein Mohammed, and a subsequent response dated March 11, 2024 the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has released an approval letter allowing the club's nominee to attend the Special General Meeting (SGM) scheduled for August 24, 2024.
This comes after another communication from the club dated August 13, 2024 followed up the issue after it was long pending.
The delay to approve Mr. Mohammed from attending the SGM was due to the doubts that he may not have been registered as required by the FKF regulations.

On the release the letter acknowledged that Mr. Mohammed was duly registered as a member of Murang`a Seal FC with FKF on 25th July, 2024, via the Club licensing Online Platform (CLOP).
“We have taken note that Mr. Mohammed was duly registered as a member of Murang`a Seal FC with FKF on July 25, 2024, via the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP). Consequently, in accordance with Article 23(2) of the FKF constitution (2017), we are pleased to confirm that Mr. Hussein Mohammed is now eligible to represent Murang`a Seal FC at the forthcoming FKF SGM.” Read part of the release.
However, Murang'a Seal has clarified that Hussein has been a member and Vice President of the club since 2019, adding that the club licensing process had no options to add new officials until this year.
On August 19, 2024, the Secretary General FKF, Barry Otieno assured the football stakeholders that the federation was ready for the Special General Meeting (SGM) that will be on August 24, 2024.
This came despite the earlier attempt to stop FKF from holding an election through a court order filed by Sports Journalist Milton Nyakundi in March, 2024.
“We have sent invitations to members to come for the SGM. The petition that was filed to stop us from conducting any activities could have destroyed our Kenyan Sport. In this SGM FKF members will put in place an electoral board and they also vote for an electoral code that will be used to conduct the elections,” he said.
He however emphasized that only bonified delegates will be allowed stating that in the past they had had issues with non-members intruding the meeting. He also expressed his hopes for a successful SGM.
“We hope for the SGM to be successful and we pray that no one will file a case to the court to stop it so that we will be able to conduct fair elections and Kenya Football to continue growing,” remarked the SG.
