Kenya Master Swimmers impress at Uganda National Championships

Kenya’s master swimmers showcased exceptional talent at the Uganda Swimming Federation National Masters Swimming Championship, earning standout results and setting new personal bests in various events. The competition brought together top swimmers from the region, with Kenyan athletes making a strong mark on the regional stage.
Kenya's master swimmers delivered an impressive performance at the recently concluded Uganda Swimming Federation National Masters Swimming Championship. Competing against top regional talent, the Kenyan athletes excelled across several categories, with many setting new personal bests.
Victoria Mutheu was a standout, clocking 2:15.14 in the women’s 100m freestyle (25-29 category), while Jacqueline Macharia set a personal best of 47.90 in the 50m butterfly. Patricia Waanjama also shone, completing the 50m backstroke in just 22.89 seconds.
Other notable performances included Sylvia Kimani's 45.68 seconds in the 50m freestyle, Martin Mungai's 1:11.82 in the 100m freestyle, and Benson Makokha's swift 16.28 seconds in the 25m butterfly.
"Many of our swimmers achieved personal bests, which reflects their hard work and dedication," said Collins Marigiri, Team Kenya's Coordinator. "We look forward to carrying this momentum forward."
The event also saw strong showings from Uganda’s Dolphins Masters and Formidables Swim Club.
Attention now turns to the upcoming Kiambu Aquatics Masters Swimming Championship in December, as swimmers gear up for next year's World Aquatics Masters Swimming Championship in Singapore.
